Medical Billing Specialists employ proper record keeping, billing and coding techniques to ensure that healthcare providers and/or patients receive accurate and timely reimbursement from medical insurance companies. Students will be trained monitor patients accounts through insurance billing, and third party payers such as Medicaid, Medicare, Tricar, Workers' Comp and more.
Student schedules may vary, while some classes may be offered at different times throughout the year at night, certain classes are not offered on an evening schedule. All classes are offered through online/eLearning during the course of the academic year.
Students should meet with the program Advisor Kathy Kneifel to stay on track and discuss internship availabilities.
